We know that life isn't always easy. That's why here at East Lindsey LGBTQ Support and Social Group, we aim to support you in a safe and caring environment. You can be who you want to be without fear of judgement. All we ask is that you respect others as you wish to be respected.
Within our informal weekly meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet new friends and put the world to rights over a cuppa and piece of cake. We understand the importance of friendship and peer support. We have members of all ages and backgrounds, who come together to provide a laugh, a shoulder to cry on or help you combat loneliness.
Accessing help and support from the statutory sector can be a bit very daunting. That's why here at East Lindsey LGBT we work closely with third-party organisations on both the statutory and voluntary sector. We are able to signpost you to the organisations that can help with particular issues you may have, from housing, poverty relief, mental health and sexual health.
We also welcome guest speakers from organisations to come along to our meetings and talk with us.
So far in 2023 we have had guest speakers from
Alford Hub and Shine.
Here at East Lindsey LGBTQ our volunteers run a helpline which is available every evening between 6pm - 9pm. You can call the helpline on:
If you are feeling suicidal please call 999.
We understand that everyone is at different points of your journey. Providing a safe and discreet group is essential. Every member undertakes to keep the contents of discussions confidential to protect all members of the group.
In addition to the weekly meetings, the group regularly go out on day and evening trips. We actively encourage members to suggest events that they would like to attend.
We can arrange for a volunteer to meet with you before the meeting and go into the group meeting with you. We want you to feel included and taking the first step into a meeting, is often the hardest.
We want the group to be organic and grow with the needs of the people that attend. That is why we will do everything we can to support the group members to grow. That may be arranging a free course, or helping you find work.
We are all different but you will find that talking through your obstacles, will prove to you that you are not alone.
